At the prestigious Summer Gala by Gala One in Saint-Tropez, Natalia Kapchuk’s “Glacial Iridescent” (2022) from her renowned The Lost Planet series emerged as one of the highlights of the charity auction.
The piece, showcased in the lounge area of the exclusive Saint-Tropez Golf Club, was presented as Lot #13. Starting at €20,000, it ultimately sold for €50,000. The artwork drew special attention from the prominent art advisor and collector Charles Riva, who named it his favorite piece of the evening.
Proceeds from the sale were directed to three impactful charitable organizations:
Amend — an initiative providing safe pathways for children in Africa through infrastructure and educational projects;
Rainforest Trust — a nonprofit dedicated to preserving tropical forests and biodiversity, protecting endangered species, and supporting local communities;
King’s Trust International — a foundation created by His Majesty King Charles III, empowering young people worldwide through education and entrepreneurship programs.
By supporting these causes, uniting ecological, social, and educational missions, Kapchuk’s work became more than an artwork — it turned into a catalyst for real change.
The Lost Planet series explores the destructive impact of human activity on nature. Specifically, “Glacial Iridescent” draws attention to the fragility of Arctic ecosystems and the urgent need to protect them. “Contemporary art can not only visualize urgent issues but also inspire people to take meaningful action,” notes Natalia Kapchuk.
Among the distinguished guests were Leonardo DiCaprio, Adrien Brody, Rita Ora (who also performed), Jamie Foxx, Christian Louboutin, Alec Monopoly, Taika Waititi, Nathalie Emmanuel, Oliver Trevena, and many others.
Thus, Natalia Kapchuk’s participation in The Summer Gala not only underscored her creative and ecological mission but also made a tangible contribution to global charitable initiatives.
